Big changes are about to come into effect in Nova Scotia.
The province will become the first jurisdiction in the world to implement a ban on flavoured tobacco, including menthol.
The ban begins Sunday – also known as World No Tobacco Day.
Smoke Free Nova Scotia President, Krista McMullin, hopes the government will stand firm.
“It’s probably a bit scary for the government being the first in the world to do so, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not the right thing to do and we know it’s the right thing to do because other province’s are following suit.”
Ontario, New Brunswick, and PEI are changing their laws to support a ban.
Imperial Tobacco Canada is challenging the legislation.
