The co-chair of the committee reviewing Bridgewater and Park View families of schools is in wait-and-see mode.
The school board paused the review to look at “procedural fairness” of the school options committee’s recommendation to send students from Bridgewater to Park View.
It passed with an 11-7 vote with two members absent.
Some SOC members told the superintendent that process and procedures may not have been followed.
Heather MacKenzie-Carey believes they followed policy.
“You know, there is 20 people on that committee. I think there’s probably 20 different views on the whole process. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think that is a personal opinion.”
She adds, “I feel the policy as it was laid out was followed, according to the facilitator who was hired by the province to facilitate the committee.”
An external consultant will review the committee’s work.
It will come back to the table this fall.
