A Port Saxon business just got a boost from the federal government.
Kenny and Ross will pick up $1 million as a repayable loan from Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.

“It’s one of those companies that’s been around for a long time doing really cool work, expanding into global markets, and they kind of fly under the radar.”
Kenny and Ross produces fish based gelatin and collagen products that are used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Vice president Jody Cook says the money will be used to update the wastewater infrastructure.
“It’s nothing that’s a detriment to the environment. It’s actually just to clean up the waste water, remove some of the solids, which are total organic solids and just dilute the product which is going out there.”
Crook says renovations have already begun.
