Bridgewater Police Investigating After Youth Drug Bust

Bridgewater Police are investigating after roughly 20 youth were involved in a drug bust on Thursday.

Twenty grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia including scales, a grinder and water bong were seized from vehicles shortly after 9 a.m.

Acting Police Chief Scott Feener says the large group were gathered at the old town dump off St. Phillips Street.

Feener says most ran away when police arrived but seven teens were arrested and searched.

“No other narcotics were found on them so they were released at the scene, but scattered around the ground was remnants of drug paraphernalia and cannabis marijuana.”

Feener says it’s concerning to see young people appearing to smoke marijuana prior to attending to school.

He says police are trying to identify the teens who left the scene.

No charges have been laid.
