A couple of South Shore sports organizations hope to claim a $10,000 prize from the Nova Scotia Lotteries and Casino Corporation.
The Lunenburg Yacht Club and the Argyle Athletics club are two of the ten finalists in the Grow Your Game contest.
They each submitted a video explaining how the money would benefit their sport and community.
Instructor Adrienne O’Connor from the Yacht Club describes how they would use the funds.
“We definitely need the money. I mean some of these boats – some of them have been there for quite some time and definitely need some repairs.”
O’Connor describes the feeling of making the final.
“We were pretty excited even making just the top ten. You get a thousand dollars right away for being in the top ten. So we were pretty excited for that. Ten thousand dollars would be unbelievable.”
The public can vote on the winning video until September 12th.
