Mounties are giving major credit to the street crime unit serving the South Shore. Members of the team helped recover a side-by-side ATV over the weekend in Chester Grant. It had been reported missing from the Annapolis Valley last April. Sergeant Al Leblanc says the unit is comprised of the Bridgewater Police Service and Lunenburg RCMP. “So what you can see here, is a good exhange of information between the departments and it’s a win-win situation for all.” A 59 year-old Chester Grant man has been charged with theft over $5,000 in relation to taking the ATV. In 2013, the street crime unit seized more than $40,000 worth of stolen property and charged just over 40 people.
