Street Festival To Overtake Lunenburg

Lunenburg will be abuzz in a few weeks.

It’s considered the unofficial kickoff to summer in Lunenburg.

The ‘Street Festival’ is back on July 9th with some big additions.

Buskers, bagpipers as well as food vendors will be on hand.

Penny McDonald of Lunenburg’s Board of Trade says it will be a busy weekend.

“Once they visited the Festival of Crafts, they can come on in town and enjoy what we have to offer… We always think that the more that’s going on for people, the better it is.”

The festival has been ongoing for over 30 years.

Some sections of streets will be closed including Lincoln, King and Pelham.

McDonald says the additions brings new life to the festival.

“By expanding the events, I think that it gives people more reason to come to town,” she says, “and it gives people more time to enjoy themselves.”

McDonald says this years event will have something for all ages.

There will be many activities throughout the town, however, Lincoln Street will be the main location.
