Executive Director, Erick Bickerdike, says it tells the story of a 12 year-old girl who will do anything to get the lead in the school play.
“So, there is all kinds of back stage shenanigans and in the end the girl does get the lead role, but crosses the line in terms of what she should do and what she shouldn’t do in order to get there.”
Bickerdike says it’s a funny production with music, two large sets, many costumes and props.
This is the 30th year for the festival, which also features a tribute to John Denver, Bohemians in Brooklyn, Here Lies Henry and other musical performances.
The festival runs until August 27.
