Barrington RCMP were called to a grocery store on Highway 3 in Wood’s Harbour just before 10 o’clock Thursday night.
Cpl. Jennifer Clarke, a spokesperson for the Nova Scotia RCMP, says three staff members were in the store at the time.
“They witnessed a lone male come in with a knife in his hand. He had a note demanding money. No one was injured. Our suspect did flee the store on foot with some cash. We did have the police dog come down and try and find a track.”
Clarke says they believe an ATV was used by the suspect.
She says the employees gave an excellent description to officers.
The person is described as a white male with blond hair, wearing a black bandana across his face, a white and grey striped shirt and dark pants.
The RCMP is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Barrington RCMP at 902-637-2325 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
