Teachers Casting Votes For Next President

Members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union will elect their next president today.

Two candidates, Grant Frost and Paul Wozney are the two names remaining on the ballot.

A first ballot last week saw three candidates drop off the ticket including Cherie Abriel, Shawn Hanifen and current NSTU president Liette
Doucet.

The NSTU president must be elected by a majority vote of 50 percent plus one.

More than 10,000 members began electronic voting at six o’clock this morning.

Polls will close at 9:00pm and the results are expected about an hour after that.
