Therapist Helping Businesses Be More Accessible

An occupational therapist in Lunenburg County wants business owners to start thinking about accessibility.

Ellen Johnson is putting on a workshop this week.

She says making your business accessible to everyone needs to be a priority.

“The number of people with disabilities is increasing over time, rather than decreasing,” she says. “I think businesses are going to lose out if they don’t become accessible.”

Johnson says older buildings in the South Shore mean business owners will have to find creative solutions.

The workshop is this Thursday, January 14, at the Economic Centre (373 King Street, Bridgewater).

It is being offered for free to those who register.

You can sign up by calling Johnson at 902-521-8795.
