This might be the most haunted building on the South Shore!

If you’ve ever been to or done any research on the Lunenburg Academy, you’ll know there’s a lot of history there. The building was erected in 1895 and was used as a school until 2012. Today, it serves as an office building and community hub.

A building that’s more than 100 years old is bound to have some spooky stories, and the Lunenburg Academy has plenty of them.

Many former students, teachers, and now office workers believe there are some supernatural things happening inside the old building. Lunenburg MLA Susan Corkum-Greek has also had her fair share of experiences. Her office is located in the building.

Check out her story, along with a few others, in a video from about 10 years ago.

Naturally, many paranormal searches and investigations have taken place at the school over the years. Most recently, the show Ghosting filmed an episode there. During filming, the crew reportedly captured what appeared to be an apparition on one of their cameras through a window in one of the most haunted areas of the building: the dungeon, better known as the basement.

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, stories like these have helped make the Lunenburg Academy one of the South Shore’s most intriguing historic buildings. Do you have any spooky stories that have to do with the old school on the hill?
