Nova Scotia’s transportation minister says a ferry will be in place this June in Yarmouth.
The certainty comes despite the fact that a vessel has not been secured yet by Bay Ferries Limited.
Geoff MacLellan says the province and company are still in contract negotiations.
“We don’t have any specific numbers, anything to share at this point but you know, we’re into those very specific aspects of what the agreement is going to look like.”
MacLellan says there are no plans to back out of negotiations.
He says as details of the contract are finalized, the province is confident Bay Ferries is the best operator to provide the service.
