Two Lunenburg County men are facing drug related charges following a 4 month long investigation into the trafficking of Cocaine.
On Tuesday, RCMP stopped a vehicle in Oakhill just before midnight and arrested 41-year-old Jason Ashley Dalby of Middlewood, along with 23-year-old Colby Gabriel Oickle of Bridgewater, after finding a large quantity of cocaine inside the car.
District Commander of the Lunenburg County RCMP, Staff Sergeant Stephen McQueen, says multiple police units were involved throughout the investigation.
“Bridgewater Police were involved throughout the entire investigation, we had RCMP Street Crime officers from Shelburne as well as the Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia was involved,” says McQueen.
Police also conducted a search of two homes in Barss Corner as a result of the ongoing investigation.
“So this was a particular network that was operating and we’ve been watching and investigating them for four months, which led to these take downs,” McQueen adds. “The searches that were conducted up in the Barss Corner area were linked to this investigation and were linked to the previous night’s activities where two were arrested.”
Both 41-year-old Jason Ashley Dalby of Middlewood and 23-year-old Colby Gabriel Oickle of Bridgewater have been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Both will return to Court in Bridgewater later this month.
Police say more charges and arrests are possible as the investigation remains ongoing.
