A home in North East Point on Cape Sable Island was destroyed by fire around noon-time Thursday.
It occurred just hours after firefighters left the scene of a fatal house fire in Clark’s Harbour that claimed the life of a 60-year-old man.
Volunteers from Island and Barrington Passage, Woods Harbour-Shag Harbour, Barrington and Port LaTour fire departments responded.
They battled the fire amid high winds and very cold wind chill.
A neighbour told Acadia News that two people lived in the home.
It’s not believed there were any injuries.
