Two People Injured, One Seriously, AfterTwo ATVS collide Head-On In Yarmouth County

RCMP, EHS and fire departments responded to the Boyd Road in Argyle Head around 9:50pm Tuesday night.

Yarmouth Rural RCMP Sgt. Ben Parry says neither driver was wearing a helmet and neither of the vehicles had headlights on.

He says the drivers had been in contact with each other and were driving to meet up.

“The vehicles collided, sending both vehicles into the ditch, seriously injuring one of the riders, a 30-year-old male, who was airlifted to Halifax. The other rider was a 38-year-old female. She was treated at the Yarmouth Hospital.

Sgt. Parry says while the accident remains under investigation, they are looking possible alcohol involvement.

He says there are charges under the Motor Vehicle and Off-Road Vehicle Acts that also apply.
