The Lunenburg County United Way is reaching out to local councils for help.
Coordinator Michael Graves says fundraising has been steadily falling for years and they can’t turn it around on their own.
But, he’s not directly asking for money.
“We’re asking those community leaders to engage their friends their Rolodex files and ask the business community to support the United Way by having their employees participate in payroll deduction,” he says.
Graves says if everyone gave about four dollars a pay the United Way would have more than a million dollars to invest each year.
He says he’ll be presenting at all councils in Lunenburg County over the next few weeks.
