RCMP confirm that a 73 year-old woman from Queens county is dead after a three-vehicle crash on Highway 103.
It happened after 1 p.m. between Exits 11 and 12 in Maitland.
A 68 year-old man from Chester was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say that section of highway will be closed for the remainder of the day.
Traffic is being diverted to Highway 3.
Constable Mark Skinner says they believe weather was a factor.
Police, paramedics and firefighters from Blockhouse, Martin’s River, Oakhill and Northfield responded to the call.
An RCMP collision analyst is investigating.
