UPDATE: Shelburne: Boil Water Order in Effect For Commission Street Residents

Crews in Shelburne believe they have located the main leak in the waterline on Commission Street.

An update was provided Wednesday night via social media by the Town of Shelburne.

It says the leak was well hidden and located underneath a manhole casing.

Repairs will be completed this morning and all customers will be returned to service.

Due to water quality problems and the possibility of unsafe water, consumers on Commission Street are advised to boil water for at least 1 minute before consumption.

The boil water order will remain in effect until the town receives word from the Department of Environment.

The advisory only impacts customers located on Commission Street.

Mayor Karen Mattatall says they appreciate the public’s patience to help the water tower get restored.

“It’s very unfortunate,” says Mattatall.

“We apologize and we really appreciate people’s patience.”
