It’s the end of an era for the Victorian Order of Nurses in six Canadian provinces.
Citing restructuring as the reason, the VON ending its operations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick.
The VON filing for protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act but operations in Ontario and Nova Scotia won’t be affected.
The VON is also reducing the number of employees in its head office by 23 per cent.
Three hundred and fifty-two of more than 6,400 employees will be impacted by the restructuring.
