Eleven fire departments were called to the scene of a fire in Lunenburg County on Thursday afternoon.
A building in Cookville along Highway 10 went up in smoke around 4:30 p.m.
The building was used to produce wood pellets.
Bridgewater Deputy Fire Chief Andy Wentzell says firefighters did a great job of limiting the damage.
“One building is a loss, the other building was partially destroyed and some of the equipment in it was partially destroyed as well.”
Wentzell says several large barns containing about 30,000 chickens were saved.
No one was injured.
The cause is undetermined at this time.
