Wanted: Barns For Cats

The SPCA is hoping to get help from farmers.

The society normally places a few feral animals each year through their Barn Cat program.

However, they’ve been overwhelmed recently having to take in almost a hundred cats.

The SPCAs Heather Woodin says they ensure the cats are healthy and spayed or neutered before they’re placed.

And farmers get excellent working barn cats in exchange for some basic help.

“Be willing to provide food and care for a cat in return for allowing them to continue to live their outdoor life and work on rodent control. Really, it would be a win-win for these farms.”
