The province is touting changes its made to the education system.
But there is still work to be done, according to Minister Karen Casey.
The changes included more emphasis on math and literacy between grade primary and three and the introduction of coding.
Casey says they will create new policies for student attendance.
“We are getting feedback and input, so that we can come together with a policy that we believe, again, strengthens the classroom and teaching environment.”
Casey says feedback is being provided by teachers and school boards.
The province is also planning to introduce more class caps to reduce class sizes and provide more support for ‘Reading Recovery.’
