More and more people are meeting a Yarmouth County woman who will cycle coast-to-coast this September to raise funds for kids with cancer and their families.
Jill Smith from Argyle Head was diagnosed with a rare form of head and neck cancer two and a half years ago.
She said she had chemotherapy a few times in Yarmouth and there were kids next to her receiving treatment.
Smith says she’s met people from all over the South Shore and Western Nova Scotia on her daily bike rides.
She says people have big hearts.
“I’m at just over $5000 on the way to $6000 now , so I have a ways to go. I find people are very generous and it’ so encouraging to see that.”
Smith will be in Yarmouth Friday and Saturday with her stationary bike raising funds.
