New Top Cop Comes To Liverpool

A new face is leading the way at Queens RCMP detachment.

Staff Sergeant Dan Archibald brought his 13 years experience to his new post as Queens District Commander last month.

After being stationed as far away as Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the Newfoundland native is glad to be back on the East Coast.

“I’m excited to put my policing experience to use here in Queens County to see what works and what doesn’t. There’s different issues here than one may encounter in Saskatchewan, as you can imagine.”

Archibald says the South Shore offers a different experience for he and his family.

“This is the nicest community we’ve lived in. The biggest thing you notice coming back East is just the friendly people that you encounter. We’re just over the moon to be back here in Atlantic Canada and here in Liverpool.”

Archibald has already identified road safety as a top priority for the community.

He’ll work to tackle issues of speeding and distracted driving immediately.

And says he’ll continue to meet with people in the communities to ensure the RCMP is meeting expectations.
