Big Bike Peddling Its Way Through Lockeport For The First Time

A first for residents of Lockeport.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike will make its way to the Shelburne County town on Wednesday.

It will see as many as 30 people ride to raise money for cardiovascular disease research but also public education and government advocacy.

Program Coordinator David Olie says it’s exciting news.

“It’s such a small community that it should be a really big event. I want to see that bike rolling along the sand dunes of Crescent Beach.”

The Big Bike is in Yarmouth today.

It will also be in Liverpool and Shelburne on Wednesday, followed by Bridgewater on Thursday and Chester on Friday.
