BMO Hoping New Branch Will Act As Hub For Lunenburg County

Construction of the new Bank of Montreal branch in Bridgewater is on schedule.

The company is moving from its current location on King Street to the corner of Aberdeen Road and Glen Allan Drive.

The building is over 4,500 square feet and will offer commercial and personal banking representatives.

BMO’s regional vice president, Lee Winchester, says the decision to move from King Street was based on providing better service.

“Parking was also a big determining factor as well we wanted to be highly visible in a visible location, a prominent location. Also looking at where is the potential for future growth and a place that is easily accessible for our customers.”

The new branch is expected to offer the newest technology along with services like financial planners, wealth management professionals, and a drive-thru automated bank machine.

Construction started in early December with the opening expected in July.

Winchester says current staff will make the move to the new location with up to three to five new jobs to be announced.
