Bridgewater Posts Construction Locations Online

Commuters in Bridgewater will have a leg up on avoiding road work.

The town has just begun including the locations of construction sites on their ShowMe map.

Mayor David Mitchell says the move was inspired by an experience he had while on vacation.

Mitchell was handed a map outlining all the construction he would encounter while visiting a park.

“So I brought that back and said, how do we get this in our town? Because every year we hear the same thing. When is construction here? I didn’t know there was construction there.”

Mitchell says the online portal has a number of advantages.

“Staff came up with this one and that’s to show where construction is, what the construction is. It’s a live environment so if a project is delayed it can quickly change the date. That’s better than having a piece of paper.”

Mitchell says the new features piggy back on technology already in use and comes at no additional cost to the town.
