A Yarmouth man knows to listen to his wife.
Blair Churchill didn’t care which card was picked after his name was drawn in the River Hills Golf and Country Club Chase the Ace.
A proxy had to flip the card for Churchill because he wasn’t there in person.
“The wife said top left, that’s where it went to, and I said alright. That’s the one she wanted so I guess I’ll give her a little bit of credit.”
The ace was turned over and Churchill walked away with over $635,000.

Churchill says the money doesn’t change his plans.
“I got a golf tournament tomorrow to win. And also, I’ve got to work tomorrow morning. So, I’m still going to work ’cause I’m a proud dairy farmer.”
He plans to split the money with a friend and take his kids to Disney.
One of the organizers, Lisa O’Connell says the draw was a big commitment from a lot of people.
“This is our 49th week. We all have put a lot of work into it. There’s over 80 volunteers. You can hear them tonight, what are we going to do on Saturday night now?”
She says the volunteers are disappointed it’s over, but will take the night to put their feet up.
“We’re going to sit here, and we’re going to talk about all the stories for the past 49 weeks and discuss, like we do every week, we tell all of our funny stories when it’s over.”
O’Connell says after the way the community rallied around the event, they’re planning to begin another draw in January.
