Coffee Shuffle In Bridgewater

There’s a game of cafe musical chairs going on King Street in Bridgewater.

Fancy Pants Cafe and Play has announced they’ll be moving down the road and taking over the Interval Cafe space.

Co-owner Michelle Engel says the new space will focus more on local food then on child entertainment.

“There’s still going to be a spot where kids can, kind of, land after having a snack, or just hang out with mom and dad,” she says, “but, we are quite decided yet just how much of the space will be a space specifically for kids.

Engel says she knows some parents will be disappointed to lose the play space.

But she hopes they’ll give the new location a chance.

Meanwhile, the owners of the Interval Cafe say they aren’t disappointed to be closing after only six months.

In fact, Sheila Rhodenizer says it was the plan all along.

“We wanted to bring the building back, put something in it that people would enjoy coming to and be able to hand it over to someone who was as passionate as we were and we’ve done that.”

Rhodenizer says she expects this will become a pattern for their group.

She says she’s not sure what the next project will be yet, but she’s excited to see what Engel will do with what they started.
