Habitat needs more funds before they can start the latest build in Bridgewater.
Chair Hank Middleton says their gala fundraiser last weekend was a success but they still need at least $7,000.
“Initially our first home in Bridgewater was built [with], I think it was $77,000,” he says.”But, the problem is the cost of building a home has become, perhaps, a bit more difficult to fundriase.”
Middleton says new regulations mean less work can be done by volunteers forcing them to hire trades people.
Habitat will be approaching local businesses to try to secure the rest of the money.
He says if all goes well they still hope to begin work this spring.
