Library Displays Postcards From Across The Globe To Mark Anniversary

The Waldorf School is celebrating a century of educating children.

To mark the occasion, the Blockhouse school has been exchanging postcards with other Waldorf schools around the world.

For months, the students have been receiving hand-written cards.

Some of the hundreds of cards are now on display at the Margaret Hennigar Library in Bridgewater.

Enrolment and Development Coordinator Caitlin Rooney says they wanted to share their excitement with the larger community.

“Partly was inspired by just how much the children at our school have loved receiving these and we wanted to be able to share that. And this is a beautiful venue to share that in. And if someone sees a place that they’ve never heard of on one of the postcards, where better than a library to look that up?”

Rooney says the postcards are a way for the thousand-plus Waldorf schools to engage with each other.

“Because we’re all independent, there’s never been a huge connection. We’re using this opportunity of the hundredth anniversary to try and build that connection.”

The postcards will be on display until the end of the month.
