Lockeport: Civic Numbers On Mayor’s Mind

The mayor of Lockeport is urging people to post their civic numbers.

The town developed a civic numbering by-law following concerns from first responders who were worried about finding homes in emergency situations.

George Harding says he’s noticed some improvement recently but the issue remains.

“We’re going to move forward by Spring and Summer to go door-to-door and ask those individuals who don’t have them, how they want us to proceed,” says Harding.

“We would like 100% of our residents displaying civic numbers.”

Harding says feedback will be gathered and expects the issue will come back to council this summer.
