Lunenburg: Community Rallies To Recognize Town As Hockeyville

Saturday night was proof the South Shore is one of Canada’s most passionate hockey communities.

Lunenburg held the first rally in their Hockeyville bid.

The arena was full of spirited local hockey lovers.

Dylan Demone plays for the South Shore Ice Sharks and says it’s all about the love of the game.

“It’s awesome. It’s fun and a competitve sport.”

But team mate Tyler Harlow says there’s one thing that sets Lunenburg apart from the rest.

“It’s not about winning; it’s about fun”

Top prize is $100,000 in arena upgrades and the Hockeyville winner gets to play host to an NHL exhibition game next season.

The top 10 will be announced March 5th.
