New Life For Former Bridgewater Church

A new life is on the horizon for a 95 year-old building in Lunenburg County.

The former Bridgewater Baptist Church on King Street has been sold to Craig Schrader, who owns several properties in the town.

Schrader isn’t sharing details of the sale but says he doesn’t plan to demolish the church or two houses that sit on the property.

Church Board Chair, Dave Mitchell, says that’s great news.

“The buildings have quite a significant meaning, to the members of our church and even members of the community,” he says. “So to see them preserved in one way or another really meant a lot to us.”

Mitchell says money from the sale will go towards their new $6-million facility.
