The mother of a snowmobiler who died after falling through ice says she’s overwhelmed by community support.
The body of 26 year-old Will Lapensee was found late last week at Black River Lake in Kings County.
A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up to help his family.
Wendy Lavigne says the money will go to good use.
“It’s directly for the kids. If they ever need something in the future, you know, braces, my grandson wants to play hockey or anything, it’s there for them. My son took care of his kids.”
Lapensee leaves behind two children, ages two and four, and a fiance.
The fund has raised more than $18,000.
