It is with great sadness that the family of Eldred Clinton Lohnes announce his passing on October 10, 2026, at the Rosedale Home for Special Care at the age of 92.

Eldred was the devoted husband of Jessie Ann (Pearce) Lohnes, who predeceased him in 2020. Their love was steadfast and deep, carrying them through every chapter of their lives. They were both predeceased by their two sons, Kelvin and Boyd. Eldred missed Jessie and their boys profoundly, and his family takes comfort in knowing they are now reunited for eternity.

In their earlier years, Eldred and Jessie lived for a time in Ontario where they made lasting friendships and embraced new experiences. They later settled in Eldred’s home community of Upper Northfield but travelled often to visit family and friends across Canada.

Eldred was a quiet soul with simple joys. He loved reading and had a particular fondness for old western movies, often spending peaceful evenings revisiting the stories and characters he enjoyed so much.

During his declining years, Eldred received exceptional care at the Rosedale Home for Special Care, where staff went above and beyond to ensure he felt valued, comfortable, and loved. His family extends their sincere gratitude for their kindness and care.  Eldred was especially fond of his outings, most recently his last trip to the Big Ex, made possible by Randy and the dedicated team.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.
