With a deep sense of loss the family of John Charles Chipman, 69, of Bridgewater, share the news of his passing on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Ryan Hall in Bridgewater after struggling with MS.  Born in Alberton, PEI, he was a son of the late George and Yvonne (Dingley) Chipman.

John grew up in Rockingham and enjoyed playing hockey, golf, curling and became proficient at sky diving.  He worked as a millwright at Halifax Dockyard.  He enjoyed working with wood and made several intricate pieces.

John leaves behind his brother Bill (Margaret), Falmouth, sisters, Margaret Chipman, Tantallon and Patricia (Paul) Cross of Lake Echo, niece Cyndie (Stacey) Blackmore.

In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there is to be no public memorial service. Interment will take place at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.

Donations made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by John’s family.
