A study to see if tolling is a possibility on Nova Scotia’s major highways will be released in the coming weeks.
CBCL Limited has been conducting the study over the last several months.
Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellan says the financial details are being determined.
“Which, really, for people is the crux of the study. What would it cost? What would those user fees look like to have toll highways installed?”
A 71 kilometre section of Highway 103 from Exit 5 in Tantallon to Exit 12 in Bridgewater could be twinned and use tolls to pay for it.
Other sections that could be twinned are on Highway 101, 104 and 107.
MacLellan says community meetings will be held province-wide in May and June.
