Dozens of Special Olympic athletes from the South Shore and Tri-Counties are preparing for their provincial games.
They will be held February 22-24 in Greenwood and Camp Aldershot near Kentville.
There are several sports being played including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, floor hockey, curling and bowling.
Coordinator John McIntosh says the athletes display incredible spirit.
“They give their all every time they’re doing any sport they’re doing, whether it’s coming first; second; third; fourth; fifth; sixth. They’re happy to be just out among all their friends.”
The top finishers in these games will represent the province at the Special Olympic Nationals next year in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
