We finally know who’s best on a sledge after months of lead up.
Mayor Don Downe was declared the winner by photo finish in a race against Bridgewater Councillor Wayne Thorburne.
“Wayne did a great job,” he says. “Got me in a corner. Didn’t hook me up too bad. I think I fell on top of him at one point. We had a great time.”
Downe says the experience has shown him how much skill and strength is required to play the sport.
